A Deconstruction of Construction

Project type

Glassblowing

Date

2022

Location

Farnham

This piece demonstrates how an error in studio process can result in an interesting outcome. The way the glass blew out as the mould shifted created a thinner bubble and affected the density of the purple colour.
Through my ongoing interest in geometric forms, architecture and structural forms, I have considered the movements Neoplasticism, Constructivism, and Cubism within a fine art context to aid me in my design process. Visuals surrounding construction vs deconstruction are communicated through more ad hoc mould structures and compositions.”
