I found Twombly’s sculptures very intriguing, trying to figure out what his use of materials were. Many of his pieces were assemblages, which isn’t something that usually appeals to me as an artist, however the pieces were so ambiguous, but with structure and form. The textures on many of the pieces came across as very organic, or similar to rust, the rough surfaces of the works comparable to rocks.
