A potential idea I came up with when brainstorming for the ’Space Invaders’ project was looking at human sentimentality, lack thereof and compulsions to hoard.

Hoarding is a common problem among artists, keeping an assortment of random objects and materials in the view that they may someday become useful rather than allowing them to go to waste.

This then led me on to the idea of mapping spaces in their simplest forms, looking at spaces that are familiar to me and drawing floor plans of them from memory. I found this very enjoyable. It made me think of the ideas of the ‘Method of Loci’ which makes use of special memory and visual mapping to remember information.
