Alina Szapocznikov - Hauser & Wirth

Szapocznikov experimented with industrial materials including plaster, polyester resin and polyurethane foam to make her pieces. In my project I will also experiment with casting and using industrial materials such as these. I loved the functionality of the light-up pieces as well as the dark abstract forms, which to me more accurately portray the message she is showing through her work. There is themes of mortality and violence in her pieces, being a survivor of a concentration camp.
